Iran-Zimbabwe economic commission to hold in Harare

Mohammad Taqi Hosseini said the commission's 7th biennial session was held in Tehran and the 8th session is to be held in Harare next week.

Iranian Minister of Co-operative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei and Zimbabwean foreign minister head delegations of their respective countries.

Referring to expanding cooperation between Tehran and Harare, Hosseini said Iran attaches importance to expansion of cooperation with developing countries.

He added Iran has active participation in different economic sectors of Zimbabwe, such as textile industries, tractor manufacturing, mining, renovation and repair of aviation transportation installations.

The deputy minister also said that representatives of public and private sectors will attend the joint economic commission.

Simultaneously with the commission, an exhibition to show capabilities of Iranian companies in the co-operative sector will be held in Harare.

In the exhibition, co-operative activists in the fields of construction materials, handicrafts, medicine, wood industry and melamine will participate.

The exhibition will be inaugurated in presence of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and Ali Rabiei, he added.

The minister of co-operative, labor and social welfare is also to deliver a speech in a conference dubbed 'Co-operative and small, medium size enterprises'.

Ministers from a number of developing countries such as Indonesia and South Africa, and Seychelles and Zimbabwean small enterprise ministers as well as minister of economic planning of Zimbabwe are attending, Hosseini added.
